Now is that weird time of year where fall starts flirting with winter. I myself prefer the days when Summer flirts with Fall, but Fall is a whore, so what can I say?
It's supposed to snow here on Thursday and that makes me not so much happy as devastated. I havn't done anything fally yet at all. And I wouldn't be too upset except that I didn't do anything summery this year either. But fall is my favorite season and I've barely made the flip flops to socks transition and here's winter already. And as we all agree, winter sucks. I mean, we all agree on that right? Oh spare me your "I'm really different, I love winter!" things that are fun in winter are only fun because we are trying to make the best of the crappiest season. Seriously, besides perhaps sledding, all winter activities would be more enjoyable in the summer or fall. For instance, I would love to sip cocoa and wear mittens and a LIGHT SWEATER while visiting a pumpkin patch instead of while butied under a ton of snow. And we ALL know that there would be no Christmas more fiercly fabulous than that of a Hawaiian themed Christmas in July. Halloween is almost here and I have no costume, no pumpkins, nothin.
Remember when I put a list of names on he blog of people from high school who I'd like to see again? Well, because of that and the wonders (I first typed "wounds"...wonder what that's about) of MySpace.com, I've found them all. And, minus a couple, they are all going to be at a Halloween party on the same night in Milwaukee. So I've decided that instead of buying a new outfit and getting my har all did up for some boring high school reunion one day, I'll just put on a freakish costume and see the selected few I actually care about instead. I was worried at first that I would be too nervous or awkward, but found that I needn't worry as I typed an email reply to the invitation promising that I would not only come but that I would also do the monster mash as soon as I walked in the door.
I worried those typical things you worry before seeing lots of people you havn't seen in a long time. Specifically, "I'm too fat". But then remembered that in this circumstance I won't be faced with judgement since these were all at one time, my best friends. Plus, it's a party where you are encouraged to dress in costume, so Im sure I can find some way to either cover it up or make it work. We'll talk more about this upcoming event as the days near. I definetely called Lisa, one of my BFF's from high school and present day and demanded her presence, and a place to stay. That way I'll be sure to have at least one familiar face in a sea of...familiar faces...hm, that analogy needs some work.
There will be more about this in the upcoming days, it's hilarious. And if you think for one second that the long ponytail wig isn't treking up to Milwaukee with me then you are sorely mistaken my friends. But someone think of a good costume that involves a long ponytail and hilariously oversized sunglasses...wait...nevermind, I just got it.
