Catching Up

I have a few minutes so here is some news and updates and shizz…I added some pictures next to each blurb since Derek recently told me he likes to "skim" my blog, I'm hoping this will hold his attention longer...

I took an online quiz to see which Jane Austen Heroine I most resemble. So did my mom. We both ended up as Anne Elliott from Persuasion. We haven’t read Persuasion yet so we don’t know if that’s good or bad, but I know I was a little sad not to be Elizabeth Bennett.

I’m going to take a pottery class at the end of March through April. I’m so excited. Pottery and Fencing are two classes I’ve always wanted to take. I don’t think pottery is very attractive looking, but it looks fun to make. It’s wheel throwing and freeform. I’m going to make a bowl and a bird. You are all getting pinch pots for Christmas. Pinch Pinch.

Oscar Dresses were a snooze. Why so much red? I liked the dress that looked like it was covered in peeps though. Mmmm, peeps. Otherwise the red carpet sort of looked like a bloodbath.

I went to get my food delivery the other night wearing jammies and this guy in the hall looked at my jams and sneered. SNEERED! You are TOTALLY allowed to wear jimmie-jams in public when you are in your own building and either doing laundry or getting your food delivery! I overcompensated by wearing a red Oscar dress to work today.

Argo Tea is yummy. They have a Teapuccino which is fun to say. It doesn't make me lay in bed with the jitters all night like coffee does. Teapuccino.

Derek and I are going skydiving in April. I put a teaser up about this a few days ago and no one cared, jerks. I really hope we have fun and don't plummet to our untimely deaths. If we do, someone take care of Lucy. She likes pretzels and scratches under her chin.

"Planet Earth" is the most amazing movie in the world. I cried a couple of times. Mostly when animals slaughtered other baby animals and then tore them apart limb from limb and ate them. Otherwise, earth rocks. (Except the bugs) (and the bats) (and the tsunamis) (and the humans chopping down the rainforests.) (Wait, you guys, Earth kinda blows.)

I watched the show Quarterlife the other night, it was so-so. I kind of feel like it’s written by a bunch of people in their forties who are writing what they think being 25 in 2008 is all about. Everyone on the show has a great job, a great body, a secret crush and very scripted banter. And it’s six white friends living in New York…where have I seen that before? They are all a little whiney. I’m waiting for the character who is an office manager at a small non-profit and lives alone with her cat…no, I’ve seen enough of that character. And all the narrative is done through one girls blog where she reveals way too much personal information about her friends, which I, for one, would NEVER do. (David Cerda wears a girdle).

Someone buy me a new laptop. (I'm looking at you Owens.)Mine has gotten all heavy and infected, much like a lot of girls I went to high school with. I want a light mac. Go.

My newest play “Ruby Wilder” is opening in July. We don’t yet know where. If you would like to tell us where we can rehearse for free or if you would like to sponsor us with a huge check please give me a call. We are poor but mighty.

Does anyone know what shiftF7 does? I keep hearing about it but am too nervous to try it. Apparently it is life changing.

I’ve officially lost 30 pounds so far. That’s kind of a big fat deal.

How you doing Derek? Still with us? Enjoying the visual aides? Good, good.

Daina Mae, if you are reading this...we haven’t hung out in a million years and I miss you more than most of my other friends. Can we get together soooooooooon? (I don't have a picture of Daina so I'm just including this adorable picture of a kitten and chick. Hopefully no scary "Planet Earth" animal will come and gobble them away.)

How will each of you be celebrating Leap Day?

PS: Effen Funny.

Good luck with the sky diving - that is one thing I will never work up the courage to do! And where was this Austen-heroine-themed quiz? I'm really wondering which one I would be...
