None of you have an older brother who has a girlfriend as cool as my older brothers girlfriend. She's good people and somehow, my ENTIRE family agrees that she's great. Now, as you all know, I have an obnoxiously large family and we can't generally agree on...anything...so this was no simple feat on her behalf. And, to top it off...HER family is all really great, they came to Thanksgiving this year and we all had a blast. We are all very proud of Tate for having such good taste. In talking about her recently to friends I have found myself no longer referring to her just as "My brothers girlfriend Tracy..." but instead, "My friend Tracy" which makes me very happy.
Now, this outpouring of love for the Trixster is brought on by the box I found in my foyer the day after Valentine's Day. Let me tell you.
First of all Tracy is Trixie because of my funny grandmother who is originally from Portsmouth Ohio who would always say very seriously, "Now Brookela, tell me about Tater and his girlfriend Trixie! I am so tickled that he's dating a girl named Trixie!" "It's actually Tracy, Mama" "What? Yes, Trixie..."
So anyway, after feeling the heavy depression of no one loving me enough to put any god damn pink poodle cookies in my foyer on Valentine's Day, I came home the next day to find an unexpected box from Trixie in my foyer that was full of presents WAY cooler than PPC's. Now, I knew she was sending me "something", I just didn't know what. I asked her if it would be an ipod which I want so desperately I shake when I think about it. She said no. I asked if there would be homemade cookies to which she responded, "Uh...there will be now." Well...here is what there was...
1) Homemade peanut butter cookies (now gone)
2) Homemade scarf that is SOOOOOOO pretty and SOOOOOOOO soft. I haven't exactley stopped wearing it yet, though I haven't really been outside. Here is a secret, I sort of love scarves a lot, I have a bunch of them. My little sister got me a realy pretty scarf for Christmas and Brannen got me my favorite fauxmina blue scarf, and mom made me a scarf for Christmas too. In Chicago you have to have an entire wardrobe of winter wear. Anyway, when I really love something I will sometimes sleep with it when I first get it. Needless to say, I haven't let this scarf out of my sight since I got it. I've been making scarves too, but mine arn't as good as this one! (that's right, I've been making scarves! and I'm not too shabby either!)
3) Pictures I have never before seen of me and my brother laughing at Thanksgiving a couple years ago. They were so cuuuuute and finally Tater has made it to the friend wall in my kitchen.
4) A picture of an ipod. She's a funny one that Trixie.
5) THE BEST SWEATSHIRT IN THE WORLD. It is so big and blue and comfy and great and says New York on it. I am married to it.
6) A Brooklyn shirt. I'm wearing it right now and it makes me feel somehow tougher.
7) A shirt with a turtle on it that says "Shut the Shell up" get it? cause it's a turtle? I saw it at her store a few months ago and it made me giggle. Still does...cause it's a turtle see?
8) A so nice card.
Don't I have the BEST GIRLFRIEND EVER?
