Last year I challenged every one to read 52 books in one year, a book a week. I failed at that but apparently am inadvertently kicking ass at it this year. My book club just finished "Gorillas in the Mist" which Kelly and I decided counts as science since it is labeled "Animal Science" on the book and since there are charts and graphs and three consecutive pages about the consistency of gorillas dung. Science. We have taken to combining the book club with the reading challenge so next up is an Agatha Christie novel. Neither of us have ever read her, but the cover of the book says "Trapped on a death train!" so I think it sounds fun. This will be the mystery thriller book which will push The DaVinci Code into the category "A Book You Don't Want To Read". Have you all read DaVinci Code? I hear such mixed things, people wither love it or hate it. Right now I'm having no reaction to it at all, but I'm only on chapter 3. I'm also one chapter away from finishing "Audacity of Hope" which, even though I love the man, I've been reading for a year now. Politics doesn't make for easy reading in my house. Also, upon begging all my friends who are high school teachers for a teen book that isn't Twilight I've started a book written by a friend of my friend Andy which is very fun.
My friends who actually read Twilight, who asked to remain nameless, informed me that vampires are not allowed to go outside in the daylight because they sparkle like a disco ball. They sparkle. Sparkley vampires. And also that Hottie Vampire and girl who loves Hottie Vampire don't do anything except kiss very gently and snuggle. Vampires are prude! Actually, I was informed that vampires are not prude, it's just a combination of the fact that the author is a Mormon and that is the vampires were to make out with the humans they might accidentally eat them. I hear ya.
In other blog challenges, pizza is ON. I'm having a microwave lean cuisine pizza for lunch today. That I bought at the grocery store. Because February is NO RESTAURANTS. Boo.
Besides the fact that I can't cook, the other reason I eat out so much is because I don't drive and getting groceries is an enormous hassle. Yesterday I went to Trader Joe's at 4:30 and it was the most stressful hour of my life. I like to mill around and think things over and stuff when I shop, not possible. When I left I had a million bags and tried to get on the bus but ultimately just took a cab. My lesson is that just because something is labeled "Organic" doesn't mean it's healthy. Also, what are you planning to do with a dozen eggs Miss Allen? Also, what are wasabi peas? I don't know, but I own them now. Being rushed while grocery shopping is stressful. I laughed when I was putting everything away later. Then Jeremy came and we went to Jewel so I could but things I actually need. I like shopping with Jeremy because he doesn't think it's weird when I ask questions like, "This is an onion right?" and "Do most people own brooms? Do you? Should I?"
Month without restaurants, here we go.

I don't think you planned your months right...no restaurants right after no pizza? What were you thinking?! I bet you are going to be a frozen pizza conesieur. Oh...you can make your own pizza's too! Trader Ho's sells pizza crusts!
hee hee, "trader ho's"
Don't read Twilight. I read them all one week only because I started one. They're not the worst books ever, but I would never recommend them!!
twilight is kinda good...if you want to be 14 again. the code is alright. i try not to judge books that are supposed to just be fun...ya know? those peas look like bugs. and shopping with you is super fun.
