South Carolina On My Mind

Tomorrow I'm flying to Atlanta!! I've never been to Atlanta, or HOT-lanta, so I'm super excited. My plans for my trip to Atlanta include:

Getting off the plane.
Walking to another gate.
Getting on my other plane.

What more could anyone ask from this glorious city?

Then I will take my connecting flight to South Carolina, which I guess is ok. It's nice, but it's no Atlanta. No one says South Hotolina. I'll really miss Atlanta I think.

Just kidding, South Carolina is WAY better than Atlanta. Screw Atlanta!

It's possible I've had too much caffeine.

I'm visiting my Brannen in South Carolina tomorrow. I'm assuming the airport is the size of my house since I asked where I should meet him and he just said, "Well...outside." I said, "Where will you be though?" and he replied, "In the car."

Here are all the things I'm going to do in South Carolina:

- Pinch Branny.
- Take a walk with Branny.
- Go to an old plantation house and take a tour.
- Eat at a French Italian restaurant.
- Squish Branny.
- Go see Michael at his salon, and suggest to all the South Carolina ladies that they get bouffants.
- Sit on Brannen's patio that he made and drink lemonade with him and Michael.
- Sit on the Folly Beach while wearing a pink hoodie that says "Folly Beach" which I will buy before we go to the beach.
- Sleep in the guest room.
- Not freeze.

Generally a lot of eating and sleeping and sitting and giggling. The best part will be not having to wear my boots everywhere I go. The second best part will be seeing Brannen.

I used to go to South Carolina every spring when I was little to visit my grandpa, Papa Nort. He lived in a retirement community which makes sense now, I used to just think it was coincidental and fortunate for him that everyone was a geezer on his street. We hung out at Myrtle Beach and made sand castles and stuff. Sometimes we would play on the dunes or in the cabana. It's not true what they say about cabanas, they aren't full of hot shirtless guys. Mostly just spider webs and benches.

I haven't travelled to a place where I wasn't visiting family since...2004. And those trips were for work so they don't really count. I'm excited to go somewhere different. I enjoy Seattle and New York and Milwaukee and Vegas a lot...but none of them have sand dunes or Brannens in them, so you understand.

I will bring you back a seashell!

Aloha! (Or, you know, however they say it in South Carolina!)

I think you should have Michael give you a bouffant to match all those lovely southern women. I'm thinking something along the lines of this-- http://www.uen.org/utahlink/tours/admin/tour/13227/132271964bouffant.JPG

Hotlanta isn't that bad...but SC does have the beach, so I guess I can see the appeal. :) Enjoy your trip!
