2009 FEELING KINDA BLOG TODAY READING CHALLENGE

Here is the 2009 Feeling Kinda Blog Today Reading Challenge.

There will be a taco party next January for the winners.

This year it is not the number of books you read, but the TYPES of books. This years challenge is called "Why Don't You Read THIS?"

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is the following...

You must read ONE book (at least) from each of the following categories:

Art & Photography (Art books allowed)
African American (This can include memoirs and autobiographies)
Theatre (books about theatre, theatre artists, or 3 plays)
Autobiography
Biography
Business (investing, personal finances etc.)
Children's Book
Comic / Graphic Novel
Computer (you must learn from a book how to do something on the computer that you wern't great at or didn't know before)
Memoir
Cooking (If you want to read a whole cook book, fine. Otherwise books about chefs, books about cooking, food & wine etc.)
Classic (Might I suggest Jane Austen?)
Gay & Lesbian (This can include biographies and autobiographies)
Health & Body
History
Home & Garden (I don't know, get creative here. I might read a book about decorating for small spaces.)
Horror (Take my advice, don't read Frankenstein)
Humor
Literature & Fiction
Magical Realism
Mystery & Thriller
Nonfiction (Try to read something other than a memoir or biography here.)
Nature & Outdoors
Political (Maybe I will finish "The Audacity of Hope")
Psychology
Philosophy
Poetry
Science
Religion & Spirituality
Self Help
Romance
Teen (There are more books than Twilight...I hope.)
Science Fiction/ Fantasy
Sports
Travel
One book that is 1000 pages or more
One book that you have always meant to read but have never gotten around to
One book that you always thought looked terrible (or was written by an author/person you generally dislike)
One book a friend recommended you read
and finally
One book (any genre) That is currently #1 on the New York Times Bestseller List (current as of the time you decide to read, that means you have a year to pick one from that list, but don't wait too long or you may get a dud. Once the book is out of the number one spot, it no longer qualifies for your list unless you have already started it.)

SOME RULES MAY APPLY

- No audio books, this is about taking the time to sit down and read.
- With the exception of the 1000 page book, books can be of any length.
- You must keep a list of the books.
- Each book can only count for ONE type even if it falls into multiple categories. You must choose which type although you can move it to a different type later if the need arises.

GOOD LUCK! 2009 "Read THIS" READERS!

Ok. I'm not going to follow your rules, cause I'm a rebel. But, I will read AT LEAST 52 books this year. AND...I will TRY to keep a list. So there:P
