Christmas Present 1: Presents

When I said I was going to do Christmas past, present and future for one week each what I meant was, three posts each.

So here we are at Christmas Present. This is the first time I've ever noticed that Christmas Present (as in right now) is the same as Christmas Present (as in, gimme one!). There should be more bad puns about this. If I were directing "A Christmas Carol" I would totally have the ghost of Christmas Present appear as the clock chimes from within a giant Christmas present. Although, I guess Scrooge wouldn't have a giant Christmas Present in his house...which is kinda the point of the story...but I'd figure it out, I'd make it work.

Speaking of Christmas Presents, I gave my mom a list this year. The idea is that you give her a list and then she chooses one or two that she wants to give you. I know I'm sort of old to give her a list, but if I don't...I get things with cats on them. Funky artsy cats...but cats all the same.

This year I asked Mama-Santa for:

- The Movie Wall-e (which I then found at Target and put in her cart and told her to wrap up.)
- Cute red flannell jammie pants (target, cart etc.)
- A ring I really like. (My Precious.)
- A shirt with a star on it.

I did not ask for boots since Mom has bought me three pairs since last Christmas. She's very concerned about my tootsies getting wet.

I forgot to ask Santa for Angel perfume which I have been wanting more of for years. I wore it all through high school and college when I was rich and had the world at my fingers. (And my parents "emergency only" credit card in my wallet.)

I also forgot to ask Santa or the box set of the series Planet Earth, which is maybe a good thing since the earth makes me cry. I wonder if that would happen again, I seriously couldn't get through 5 minutes of that without weeping.

Christmas at our house is for sleeping in and wearing PJ's. I know other people fancy it up. But I'm spending Christmas eve with my friend Brian and Christmas morning at the movies by myself (debating between Slumdog Millionaire and Benjamin Button) Then I'll head over to moms mid afternoon. I can't wait to give my mom her present, she's either going to love it or say "Oh! Look at that! Isn't that nice? It's special because it's from you."

My mom collects Christmas angels and last year you all might remember she helped my get my collection started with "Titus Andronichus Angel". Hopefully another horrifying and disfigured angel will make it's way into my stocking this year.

Can't wait!

I would like you to know that RIGHT NOW (the present), the dvd set of "Planet Earth" is coming in the mail for me. So when you dogsit for Shelley and Feremy, we can watch it on their sexy TV.

I've seen a production of A Christmas Carol where the ghost of Christmas Present dressed up like a gift. It was a musical-comedy version, though. :)
