New Music Monday

When I got the new Mac one thing I was really excited about was starting over in itunes world. My old itunes was a little bit of a mess, very unorganized and sort of like it belonged to a crazy person. I had almost 6000 songs but i didn't even know what half of them were. Daren keeps reminding me that I can take the old computer in and have it mate with the new computer to transfer itune files, but for one thing...old itunes was also broken. And I'm having fun collecting new music.

So today I gathered old itune gift certificates that I have never used and new ones that I just got and asked everyone to recommend songs or bands. Also, I downloaded some stuff I've just been meaning to get. Here are my music lists for Monday...

Cd's & Songs I've recently aquired on my own:

Band of Horses - Everything All the Time
Matisyahu - Live at Stubbs
Cat Power - Jukebox
"Bang Bang" - Nancy Sinatra (don't laugh, I've always loved this song)
"Viva La Vida" - Coldplay (I know, I'm a total sellout)
"Where is my mind?" - Pixies
Grey's Anatomy 3-disc Original Soundtrack - Some of this music is really good, I especially love "The Story" by Brandi Carlile and "Ruby Blue" by Roisin Murphey

Bands & Songs recommended by friends:

Luce
Mika - Life in Cartoon Motion
Actual Tigers
The Honey Bees
"Sheila" - Jamie T
"L.E.S Artistes" - Santogold
The Bird & The Bee
Antony & The Johnsons

Albums/Artists from my Dead itunes that I miss and someone should burn for me:

Death Cab for Cutie - Transatlanticism
The Arcade Fire - Funeral
Regina Spektor - Begin to Hope
Smog
Gillian Welch
Alison Krausse
Eddie From Ohio - (Cody Cosmic, since you are the one who introduced me to them, you will be the one to lend me all their cds to burn. Decided.)
Beta Band
Cat Power - Moon Pix / The Covers Album (I might actually have these cds somewhere)
Matisyahu - Youth (I know I have this somewhere...just have to dig)
Dixie Chicks - Whichever album has "Easy Silence" on it
Dresden Dolls
Janis Joplin
Le Tigre
O Brother Where Art Thou? Soundtrack
Dirty Dancing Soundtrack Vols 1& 2 (not the musical!)
Sufjan Stevens - Come on Feel the Illinoise! (This was a cd I listed to at least once a week, if anyone has it I will  buy you candy corn)
Sondre Lerche
Fiona Apple
REM - Whatever Album has "At My Most beautiful"
Goldfrapp

Shit, that's kind of a lot...

Good thing my friend Kris invited me to come over and take whatever I want from his insanely huge itunes library. Thanks friend Kris!!!

Ok, well...get to burnin.

PS: Kris, can I come over and take whatever I want from your insanely huge itunes library please?
